Recording your own album is ______. That missing adjective changes with the moment. For years I've been working on building a studio in my barnhouse. The ability to record a song, or a collection of songs, anytime the inspiration strikes is...special. Dennis and I have scraped together enough equipment to be considered "dangerous". Old tape machines, some ribbon mics, and a preamp which we'd like to just copy and paste into our rack about 3 times. Glyn Johns or T-Bone Burnett we are not, but man are we having a lot of fun. The time is almost here to release the first piece of work we've been creating here in the backwoods of Greencastle, Indiana. We're calling the album "I Know Enough To Know Better" and we're anxious to give it a pair of wings. It's a stripped down collection of new and older tunes that'll be available on March 8th.
We are giving it four wheels and thousands of miles! We start our first tour of 2016 heading south, departing March 9th. It'll be Dennis Furr and and I presenting our material as a duo; some acoustic guitar, bass, occasional percussion and keys. Here's our March calendar:
If you have friends close to any of these places please pass the word along to them to come out and hang. Word of mouth can get loud with our ability to communicate these days. We'll be all over the U.S. this year. If you want us to come to a town near you send us aa message and we'll make it happen!
Thanks for your support! We'll see you soon. Gus & D Furr
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
